1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime—it’s the leading cancer diagnosis among women. 1 in 75 women will develop ovarian cancer in their lifetime, and 2/3 of those diagnosed will die from their disease.
These facts might not be easy to face, but the great news is there are a variety of steps we can take to be proactive and support breast cancer prevention.
This October, we wanted to do something special for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So, for the whole month, we allocated the Give amount from every purchase of our This Is What Strong Looks Like design to Bright Pink, an incredible organization that focuses on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.
Bright Pink is on a mission to save women’s lives from breast and ovarian cancer by empowering them to live proactively at a young age. When caught early, the five-year survival rate for breast and ovarian cancer can be greater than 92%.
For Amanda, this Give was especially personal, as her mom is a two-time breast cancer survivor. Mama Kath is Allkiind's biggest fan and we couldn't be prouder to support such a worthy cause in her honor.
If I had to close my eyes and describe what 'strength' looked like, I would see my mom. She is a breast cancer survivor, and the most selfless woman I know. She embodies positivity with everything she does.
